Jeanette Bonner
07.22.08 | Jeanette goes to Scotland!! Next month I will be joining the production of "The Art of Juggling Women, an original new comedy offering a "Sex and the City" view from a male perspective:
"The Art of Juggling Women" propels the audience into the world of Alex Warrington, a singles' column writer busy juggling three women. A fast paced, visual battle between the sexes, it offers a chance to laugh at those all too familiar mishaps that occur in the attempt to relate to the opposite sex."
I'll be supporting the cast as the Female Understudy, understudying the three roles of Catherine, Chloe, and Crystal - a character study in itself, as each woman represents three very different female perspectives in the zany world of dating!
"The Art of Juggling Women" is set to premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Venue 45th August 11th through August 16th: http://www.thespaceuk.com/edinburgh/venue45. A personal favorite of mine, Mr. Damon Whitten will be Technical Director. "The Art of Juggling Women" has plans to return to off-Broadway sometime in 2009, and is currently prepping for the feature film version.
Going to Scotland?? How wonderful!! Tickets, which cost £7.00, can be booked by calling The Space@Venue 45 Box Office at (44) 0131 556 0476.
05.20.08 | "I'm 27. Who has a baby at 27?!?!" NEW SHOW!! My latest show is about Maggie, a 27-year-old sarcastic Manhattanite whose unexpected pregnancy forces her to reevaluate her life and relationship.
This original run acts is part of The Looking Glass Theater's seasonal Writer/ Director Forum for emerging women directors and playwrights. It runs third in a night of 3 plays, the first two of which are only 15 mins, so no excuses!! Running one week only in June. See itinerary for dates and ticket info.
04.24.08 | Eat Your Heart Out Update Eat Your Heart Out has received GREAT reviews and even won the Best Feature award at the Backseat Film Festival last month!
The even better news is that it is getting released through Lion's Gate, the number 1 distributor for Independent Horror Films around...................that means it will be available everywhere!!! Every Blockbuster, netflix, Best Buy, Amazon and much more!!
So I will actually be in a film that will be released all over the country, and there's even a cool little behind the scenes featurette on the DVD. However, as much as I know you all loved the pun fun of "Eat Your Heart Out," the distributors have changed the title...to "Skinned Alive." I know...what does that have to do with a lonely man and a flesh eating hooker? Nothing...and do I realize no one actually gets skinned alive? Yes...but that's independent filmmaking for you.
So I'll try to keep everyone posted on the actual release date..I think it's going to be released quickly...and you can see any updates, the new DVD artwork when it's ready, etc on the myspace site.
01.25.08 | Who's Got Pretty Feet? Guess what!! I've been taken on at Model Service Agency as a shoe model!! Won't this be fun! Let's hope it brings in some good revenue and also adds to my steadily growing shoe collection, which I will no longer have to apologize for.
01.21.08 | A teacher, a satire, a one act festival & a time in the not too distant future = an awesome new show!! January has started off with a bang for me! I already have some really great stuff brewing! Five auditions have gotten me three callbacks, including one for a cool new play about a russian immigrant in 1908 nyc for Theater for the New City. I also had a really fantastic audition for Arkansas Repertory Theater, and got cast in two new plays! Unfortunately i had to pick between them.
The one i chose is called "The Lunar Academy of St. Augustine." it's another one act (they just never die), and it's part of a one act festival devoted to science fiction! It's a funny satire about a school that's been built on the moon for delinquent students, whose behaviors are monitored by microchips, set in the "not too distant future." I play the head teacher (again!) who has a couple of messed up issues of her own. It's a cute, sardonic play riddled with yummy sarcasm, general ridiculousness, and licentious sex. So come on down for a chuckle, and then write your local Board of Education, cause we want a school on the moon!
08.23.07 | HOORAY!! ANOTHER PLAY!! Dear friends who know how much I've been whining about not having a new show, the clouds have opened, and the wait is over! I'm really excited about this one. It's called "Fetus Envy"....ha....hahah....and I play "Woman," whom I always seem to play. It's about a...er... woman who gets pulled off the street and thrown into a court trial for a murder she didn't do, with an attorney that acts as if it's any other Monday routine. This play will be shown at Manhattan Theatre Source as part of the Estrogenius Festival, to open mid October. Schedule to be posted soon, as well as how to buy tickets. Come watch me squirm in a court of law!!!
07.19.07 | What's a pretty girl gotta do?! Jeanette films her first industrial! A sexual harrassment video for Chubb Insurance, $5 to the first person to guess who I played. Hey, I ain't complaining! It was tons o fun and I'd do it again any day.
04.26.07 | Well it's sort of news............ It's like getting to third base (in baseball, dolts), and then your batter hits three strikes and you find yourself headed to the dugout without getting to make that golden run to home plate.
So I got CALLED BACK for an audition I had at "Law & Order: SVU" as the murder victim, Kate. And that's where the news ends. Sigh. But listen kids, having the audition was cool enough. Then I made it to the second round in front of the director and the producers!!! Woohoo!!!!! Let's all give a cheers to me for suffering through the heart-wringing process in the first place, and not falling completely on my ass. And NEXT TIME, I'll make it to home plate. :)
04.24.07 | "The Uniform" is On It's Way! Jeanette's comedic pilot, "The Uniform," an original script by Mike Civins, wraps a successful (and stressful) weekend shoot. This half-hour sitcom is best described as the "Reno 911" of college campus security. Daphney is a twenty-something New Yorker tired of temping and adrift on the sea of life, when a chance coincedence heads her to Morrishead University for an interview as a security guard. Suddenly hired, she finds herself mixed in with some creepy characters, a laptop theif, and a nerdy fellow guard who's fallen in love with her! Yikes! Comedy ensues!!
This pilot will be submitted to the Independent TV Festival this summer in LA: www.itvfest.org. More details soon!
** July 19 update: The Uniform will have its screening at Boat Bar, 175 Smith St. btw Wycoff & Warren in Brooklyn on Mon, July 30 at 7pm! Featuring $3 beers until 10, a 50/50 raffle, and talks of the very talented Austin Donahue play acoustic. Please join us!!!!!!!!!
04.18.07 | A Production Company is Born! A new door opens with the LLC filing of Jeanette's new production company, Kelly's Pool Hall Productions!!!!!!! KPHP gets its name from an homage to Jeanette's witty grandmother, who brings a smile to Jeanette's face when she answers the phone with this original phrase. (and no, she doesn't say this to everyone, just family.) Kelly's Pool Hall Productions was originally created in order to produce Jeanette's upcoming pilot headed for the ITVFest, but now there's a limitless future before it!! (anyone have a script??)
03.27.07 | Some Commercial Tidbits This month Jeanette films two commercials, for Lufthansa Airlines and Korkmaz Furniture! The Lufthansa commercial is for the internet, headed for viral video fame - Jeanette plays a Parisian lover who gets hot 'n heavy on a subway! Yeeowch! For Korkmaz, Jeanette plays a newlywed on a budget, shopping for some carpet! This one's regional, so keep your eyes peeled for some good ol' cheesy commercial testimonials!
03.12.07 | No Mercy Jeanette wraps her second feature film, "Angel Of Mercy," written and directed by Samuel Harps (Bassline Productions). The film is about a gentle hospice nurse Angela turned mercy killer in an attempt to "save" people's lives. Jeanette plays Corey, daughter of famed author Mr. Henry Nathan, and intentions clash when she catches Angela snooping around his old manuscripts. This film is still in production....updates to come on screenings and festivals.
02.04.07 | Bathing suits??.......In February?? Jeanette performs in "Sea Change," a two person one act about two girls that find a drowned body on a beach, and need to decide what to do with it. Part of the Impact Theater's "Winter One Act Festival," the play, along with 5 others, runs one weekend only, Feb 8-11, beginning at 8pm. Tickets and show information at www.theatermania.com
09.15.06 | Dirty, Forgotten Shakespeare One of Shakespeare's most famous in the 1600's, and now mostly forgotten, is his lusty narrative poem "Venus and Adonis," about said Goddess of Love, who tries to woo an earthly beauty much to his disdain. The horror! Director Rodney Hakim pursues this poem with curiosity, to discover why it is that we have cast it off among Shakespeare's forgotten, when it was every bit the pulp fiction in its heyday. Equity Staged Reading: Wed Sept 27, 6:30pm, at the Mid-Manhattan Library (40th & 5th), 6th floor. Best of all, it's FREEEE!!!!
09.01.06 | ZOMBIES!!!!!!!!! This month Jeanette wraps her very first feature film! And why wouldn't it be a B Horror film, with hookers to boot. Killer! (haha) "Eat Your Heart Out" is about Jack, a depressed anti-social nobody, who falls in love with a hooker.......who turns out to be a zombie!! Will true love prevail or will he just become another victim?? No word yet on where you can catch it, but you can look us up on imdb! Please don't confuse it with that cheesy romantic comedy made in '96. ROCK ON.
07.15.06 | New Film! Jeanette joins filmmakers Matt Sarno and Kristen Sargent in their new film, "Reflection," a story about personal change through our painful experiences. Matt's ideas and presentation attempt to embrace and honor that struggle, conveying that personal pain is beautiful. Matt writes, "Jeanette's character, Elana, symbolizes the greatest representation of mutual love."

02.17.06 | AMERICAN STANDARD PREMIERES! EVERYONE ONE LOVES IMPROV COMEDY! Jeanette's new improv troupe, American Standard, has its premiere performance this month at The Tank, aka Collective Unconscious (www.thetanknyc.org)! Here's what people are saying:
"American Standard's highly intellectual improvisations show us that America is not headed for the crapper after all. Now what was I saying?" - GW
"This is the new face of improv comedy! Inspiring and delightful. A surprise in every bowl." - Deli Man
"American Standard's improvs are what kites are to little children: they soar above, and challenge our sense of boundaries. Sometimes, they're also diamond shaped, and made by the Japanese." - 3rd grade teacher
12.10.05 | The Bully Vital Theatre Company presents "The Bully," featuring book by David L. Williams, with music & lyrics by John Gregor. A new family musical from the creator of "Mask of the Dancing Princess" and "Calling All Toys." Twelve year old Leonard is the smartest kid in his school, but he's small for his age and he's constantly picked on by the champion athlete and school bully Steve. When a bus mix-up strands Leonard and Steve at the wrong school, they get picked on for being the "new kids," which helps the boys begin to learn more about what it really means to be a bully and that they all might not be so different after all. And who should be there to throw in the wrenches, but Jeanette as the Adults: the menacing bus driver "Pam," the suspicously cheery History teacher Ms. Roosevelt, and of course, the dark overlord herself, Vice Principal Agnew!
